That my package has been “On FedEx vehicle for delivery” and “Scheduled for delivery next business day” at my local FedEx facility since Saturday morning? It is scheduled for delivery by the end of the day today but the truck has already come and gone without delivering my package. I am concerned because it is a $650+ tax phone with a sim card which can be activated and billed to me. EDIT: What appears to be the same truck I saw earlier just came back. Hopefully this time I have my package.
Have a 205 playing in the snow for your time.

You shouldn’t be because it specifies business day, which is today - not Saturday or Sunday and because they’re generally doing more than one run starting a few weeks ago because holidays.

Yes but the FedEx truck already came and delivered to my dorm building and my package was not one of the ones delivered. The tracking page says it is still on the truck at the facility.

Sorry, I ninja-edited. They’re usually running multiple trucks starting a few weeks ago. I’ve been seeing rental trucks with FedEx signs taped to the back for a little while now because holidays.

Which FedEx truck came? The green one or the orange one? And did you ship Ground or 1-3 day? It all depends on the driver’s schedule and what they have to deliver that day. It might still show up late in the afternoon.

Maybe. All the mail is typically delivered in the morning as it is a bulk delivery to some 600+ residents to a university building (USPS is delivered to the campus mail center and then distributed by 10am, FedEx and UPS typically deliver by 11). Hopefully they are just running really late. The one I saw this morning was one of the little trucks, not one of the big trucks you typically see...

It was just like this. It was shipped ground though I have never seen a green truck here on campus (it is possible they group all packages together at the facility so they only have to send 1 truck). Being a school building with ~600+ residents we typically get large bulk deliveries in the morning.

Like others have said, FedEx has varying levels of delivery. Some come in the morning, some come late, and some say screw you I’ll be there tomorrow.

You’ll have to wait on the green labeled truck. The orange ones are Fed Ex Express which are operated directly by FedEx. Ground is operated by independent contractors and run separately. The Ground guys won’t even pick up packages for the Express driver.

That is true but I have never seen a FedEx Ground truck here on campus. They are all FedEx Express trucks, every single one I have seen in the 1.25 years I have been here.

It’s definitely on a green truck. There is zero overlap anywhere in the FedEx system between Express (orange) and Ground (green), they’re effectively two separate companies. Ground and Express packages are never on the same truck or in the same sorting facilities. Handheld Ground barcode scanners can’t even read Express bar codes, and vice versa.

I wonder why I never see green trucks on campus then. I only ever see orange trucks.

That I can’t answer. Could be a time of day thing, could be that because of the volume they’re all brought to an out of the way facilities building and the staff sorts it there.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe they bring all the packages for the entire campus to one spot and then send them out to the individual buildings from there. Then they just happen to use a truck with the generic purple and orange branding. I can’t recall if the trucks actually say express on the side.

Purple and orange is Express and Express only. It is highly likely (I’d go so far as to say almost certain) that Ground packages are all delivered to a single location, then sorted and distributed by campus personnel themselves. But it definitely wouldn’t be going on an orange and purple truck

Because it’s camouflage green. As the truck drives between the trees it seems, to the casual glance, only leaves rustling in the wind.
Suddenly your package is there!
